Director - Talent & Resources
Job Description:
About the role
As Director, Talent & Resources you own everything that enables our people to do their best work — Human Resources, Information Technology, and the corporate resources that keep the airline running. Reporting to the Accountable Manager, you will build the HR function, stand up a lean and modern IT stack across IT Operations and IT Innovation, and set up our offices, benefits and workplace from the ground up.
What you'll do
- Lead the Human Resources function — recruitment, contracts, payroll, compensation and benefits, insurance and employee relations — and build a high-performance culture.
- Own the IT function across IT Operations (workstations, connectivity, infrastructure) and IT Innovation (core systems, data platform and cybersecurity), delivering a lean, AI-native technology stack.
- Provide corporate resources and workplace services — office set-up and location, facilities, staff travel, staff benefits and workplace procurement.
- Drive our Omanisation and talent-development strategy, workforce planning and the graduate / management-trainee pipeline.
- Establish the systems of record and the policies, controls and data governance that keep us compliant, secure and audit-ready.
- Own the department's strategy, budget and senior hiring.
What you'll bring
- Senior leadership experience across people and/or corporate-services functions, ideally building HR, IT or shared services in a fast-scaling or start-up environment.
- A proven track record of start-up delivery — standing up functions at pace, under time pressure and to tight deadlines, ideally having stood up parts of an airline on short timelines.
- A proven track record owning a department's strategy, budget and senior hiring, and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong HR knowledge — recruitment, contracts, payroll, compensation and benefits — and the enabling systems behind them.
- A working grasp of IT operations and enterprise systems (HRM/ATS, connectivity, cybersecurity) sufficient to direct specialists and vendors.
- Experience setting up offices, facilities, travel and workplace procurement.
- Familiarity with Omani labour law and Omanisation / localisation requirements, or the ability to get up to speed quickly.
What will set you apart
- Experience standing up the people, systems and resources foundations of a new company from the start-up stage.
- Aviation or other regulated-industry experience, and exposure to data-driven, AI-native ways of working.
